Hooded Merganser

We hiked at Steigerwald Lake Refuge today, what a beautiful sunny day! We saw many birds, including the showy Hooded Merganser. I drew this colored pencil a year ago or so.

So today I'm going to start posting a new image to my blog every day. This sketch was done a couple days ago in downtown Portland while I was waiting for the bus. It was a rare few hours of gorgeous sunshine but people walking by were paying no attention. Wake up Portland! Get off of you cell phones and enjoy!
